Why Outlet water temperature is higher than designed?

Cooling tower maintenance is one of the most important work for the maintenace department.  You might met with various kinds of cooling tower problems during your routine cooling tower maintenance work. 

Today we will talk about when you met with the outlet water temperature is higher than original cooling tower design data.

Firstly, during the cooling tower maintenance work, checking the cold water temperature is most important, it can help to check with cooling tower efficiency.  When we met if the outlet water temperature is higher than request. Most people might think that it is caused by cooling tower fan problems. How about your opinion?

Here please kindly find the detailed reason which might caused such cooling tower problems. Please kindly check with the cooling towers based on the followings.

1. Checking with the air flow

2. Checking with the water distribution

3. Checking with cooling tower fill

4. Checking with the flowing water volume
   

We do not suggest you check with the cooling tower fan firstly, because that cooling tower fan is one of the factor which can caused this problem.  This might caused by the followings:

* Inaccurate temperature measurement;

* Weather condition change

* Clogging cooling tower spraying nozzle;

* Clogging cooling tower fill media;

* Unreasonable water flow volume.

Detailed checking sequence :

1. Confirm the inlet and outlet water temperature;

2. Checking the wet bulb temperature;

3. Checking the flowing air volume and water volume;

4. Checking with the water distribution and cooling tower fill status;

5. Final step is checking with fan frequency and operating cooling tower cell quantity.
