Production Specification
The circular tower packing is a crucial heat exchange component installed inside the circular cooling tower, achieving heat exchange by increasing the contact area between water and air. Its working principle includes two forms: counter-flow and cross-flow. The former uses the heat exchange method where air flows upward and water flows in the opposite direction, while the latter involves horizontal air flow through the packing and water for heat exchange.
This packing is made of materials such as polypropylene (PP) or polyvinyl chloride (PVC), and its selection depends on the pH value of the water quality, impurity content, and operating temperature. During installation, the size of individual modules should be controlled within 500mm×500mm, and a 3-5mm thermal expansion gap should be reserved. The horizontal deviation of the support beam should be ≤ 2mm/m.
The performance of the packing directly affects the economic operation of the cooling tower. Proper installation can increase the heat exchange efficiency by more than 10%, and the energy-saving effect can reach 6%. During maintenance, softened water or anti-scaling agents should be used, and using antibacterial packing can effectively control the growth of biofilms.
The circular tower packing achieves heat exchange by increasing the contact area between water and air. In counter-flow cooling towers, air and water flow in opposite directions, while in cross-flow type, horizontal air flow and falling water flow cross for heat exchange. Open cooling towers directly spray water onto the packing surface, while closed cooling towers use independent fluid circuits and achieve indirect cooling through the evaporation of water film outside the tube bundles.
The packing modules need to have a smooth surface and precise dimensions. The thickness error of a single piece should not exceed ±0.1mm to ensure uniform water flow distribution. The support frame needs to be treated for rust prevention, and the maximum gap after installation should not exceed 20mm.
